There are two types of allergic reactions: 1) immediate which occur within minutes to three hours after exposure and 2) delayed- which can contribute to many chronic conditions. An alternative allergy testing to that of conventional medical consists of a blood test known as the LRA (lymphocyte response assay) which measures delayed allergies to common foods and chemicals. A detailed report identifies nonreactive, moderately reactive and strongly reactive items. It is best to have this test under the supervision of your health care provider; however, some states allow the consumer to order their own test.
