Behavioral Vision Therapy

In the domain of Optometry, Vision Therapy aims to straighten the eyes cosmetically with eye muscle training, known as Orthoptics, as well as train and rehabilitate the eye-brain connection in vision which serves to improve visual comfort, efficiency and improved processing of visual information. Struggles in school or work may be caused by a functional vision problem. In this respect under a trained Optometrist’s supervision, Vision Therapy can be directed toward resolving visual problems which may interfere with educational instruction. An optometric vision therapy program consists of supervised in-office and at home reinforcement exercises performed over weeks to months. The therapy may also include training glasses, prisms, filters, patches, electronic targets, or balance boards.
