Through dance and body movement, one offers an expression of oneself and their life experiences. The body and mind are one, and dance is an interconnecting point. It is helpful for those with restricted movement, dealing with death, pain, and changes in body image. Others who benefit are children, victims of abuse, and adults who are not in touch with their feelings, and deal with anger management. Stress, toxic relationships or job dissatisfaction can all take a toll on the body. Dance therapy is a wonderful way to help eliminate those “toxic” burdens” by facilitating individual expression and communication with other people. It is a fun way to increase flexibility, body awareness, spontaneity, creativity, and a healthy self-image.
