Acrylic resins are widely used in the fabrication of pink denture bases (forms the gums) and have been shown to be cytotoxic because of substances that leach from the resin. Denture relines may contain additional toxic and allergenic substances. Ask your dentist about biocompatible denture materials that are BPA-free, non-toxic, non-allergenic, and non-leeching.
