Mercury Amalgam Removal

In dentistry, amalgams are silver-colored fillings that contain 50% mercury. Drilling out an old filling creates an aerosol of mercury vapor that the patient can inhale, swallow, or absorb through the skin. A biological or mercury-safe dentist will take great care with providing protective measures for the patient that can include special equipment for suctioning and air purification, body, eyes, and hair coverings, alternative air or oxygen, supplements, and detoxifying agents. And for environmental protection, mercury separators are installed in the office to remove the mercury waste before it passes into our drinking water.
