Sedation Dentistry

There are three forms of Sedation Dentistry. 1) Inhalation Sedation using nitrous oxide, known as “laughing gas”. 2) Oral Sedation (Sleep Dentistry or Conscious Sedation) where the patient is prescribed anti-anxiety pills or a liquid. 3) IV Sedation where drugs are administered into the bloodstream through a vein obtaining deeper levels of consciousness. With Sedation Dentistry (Sleep Dentistry or Conscious Sedation), you are placed in a completely relaxed state of for the entire dental procedure. You are awake and able to communicate with the dentist, but you won’t feel anxiety or discomfort.
