The aim of Touch Point Therapy is to release trigger points in muscles at the point of pain. Trigger points become active when a muscle is distressed from physical or from emotional pain. A buildup of lactic acid results as well as inflammation and circulation problems to the area. Pressure, using hands or wands, is applied directly at the trigger point site which breaks up the muscle fibers and releases the toxins. This then allows for repair, pain relief and release of the muscle memory associated with the injury.
