Tell Us a Story About  a Patient  with Digestive Problems and How You Helped

I had a client,Daniel, who suffered with chronic digestive problems. He felt hopeless and scared since several physicians diagnosed him with colon cancer, recommending disfiguring surgery. Daniel decided to try natural alternatives and called me asking for help with his constipation and pain. Not happy with his previous doctors whose solutions were to give him temporary relief, Daniel realized that the main problem was probably not addressed.

At my clinic, Daniel presented with dry flaky skin and red spots all over his face. He seemed to be suffering from an allergic reaction all over his body. Feeling constantly tired and always wanting to sleep, he complained of not having energy during the day. This kept Danial from wanting to socialize.

Naturopathic Diagnosis and Treatment Plan

There are a number of diagnostic tools that I use to assess the whole health of a patient. Among the most important are: Whole Health History, Nutritional Assessment Test, Iridology, Quantum Science Test, Reflexology, Psychological Test (body, mind, emotion balance). From the results of the whole health evaluation and reviewing all of his tests from other doctors, I was able to uncover the root causes of Daniel’s health issues.

Changes in habits and lifestyle were definitely the place to begin. What stood out were his poor eating habits. I educated him on what unhealthy foods to cut out, what to add to his diet, and what nourishing foods he would enjoy. He also needed understanding of how eating at different times of day, chewing properly and not rushing through meals affected his digestion.

On the first visit, Daniel left my office with a sheet full of instructions and a starter packet of healing supplements. He promised that he will follow what I recommended for him and told me that I gave him hope to live longer.

Improvement and Follow-up

We met me for his follow up session two weeks later. The first thing that I noticed was that his face was clearer and the red spots were no longer apparent. Daniel said he had more energy during the day and felt so much better than what he expected . He was amazed that some small changes that I suggested could create such big changes in the way he felt. He called me an angel!

Over a period of time, I introduced additional healing modalities that included:

Daniel has not needed colon surgery and wishes that he went the path of alternative and natural healing sooner.

Why and When Did You Choose the Holistic Path?

I chose the holistic path when I was in high school. Herbal medicine was my hobby when I was a teenager. It resonated with me that the holistic health path is non-harming and the natural health emphasis is on illness prevention.

What Lessons Have Your Work and Personal Experiences Taught You?

People can enjoy big changes in their health with small modifications. To believe in natural healing, health seekers need to experience the benefits first hand and be willing to make the necessary changes.

What Would You Like Your Clients to Know About Your Services that They May Not be Aware of?

As a Doctor of Naturopathy, I try to discover the root cause of  health issues and do not suppress the symptoms. Rather I see the symptoms as the expression of the body’s life force attempting to heal itself. My role as a Doctor is to facilitate the body’s healing process by removing obstacles to health and recovery. With the healing power of nature, I help to reestablish a healthy internal and external environment where physical, mental , emotional, and spiritual aspects are in harmony.
